Highlights
Join
us for an extraordinary new expedition that combines the best of land
and sea in Indonesia. Our 18-day journey visits the Baliem Valley
in West Papua, followed by a week of diving and snorkeling from a
live-aboard vessel in the Raja Ampat Islands. Surrounded on all sides
by peaks towering over 8,000 feet, the lush Baliem Valley was only
first discovered by Western explorers in 1938. Home to three main
tribes—the Dani, the Lani, and the Yali—we hike to traditional
villages to meet the local people, spending three days with them.
Following our time in the Baliem Valley, we embark the Sea Safari
VIII to explore Raja Ampat. Because of its position between the Indian
and Pacific Oceans, this island chain boasts some of the world’s
richest reef ecosystems and over 1,200 fish species in its crystal
clear waters.
